This downloadable advent adventure includes 7 devotionals for families to use whenever works best for them to pause and read scripture together in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Each devotional excursion highlights a different movement in the Christmas story and includes corresponding activities and games to explore together. Families can decide if they'd like to do all the challenges or just choose a few.
This material can also be used in a classroom setting - each excursion can easily be used as a bible lesson, followed by the prayer prompt and your choice of activity!

Each devotional begins with a section of scripture for families to read together - followed by a short devotion that helps makes a connection to our own lives. Devotions travel through the Christmas story beginning with the conception of Jesus and ultimately ending with the question "where is home?" as they read about Jesus's return to heaven, and his promise to prepare a place for us with him because this world is not our home!
Making it Personal:
Each devotion includes a way for families to: CARE, CONNECT, PLAY, and PRAY together!
Designed for families with children ages 3-12, all activities where children would need to read (like the car bingo or sensory scavenger hung) also include images so that non-readers are not excluded from the fun! And if a game lends itself to the older children (like "Up Donkeys, Down Donkeys") we've also included an alternative game for younger disciples (like "Matching Donkeys").
As Children's Ministry leaders, we know many families travel during the holiday season (and even if you're home for the holidays it's still super busy!) and that can mean it's harder to get to church each week, or keep up with advent traditions and readings. That's why we've designed this devotional to meet families on-the-go. A resource for them to take with them, access easily and includes lots of ways to make memories while they make disciples this Christmas - no matter where they may be!
